You won’t find these kinds of theme flashcards in stores, because they’re not used commonly enough. Have fun teaching likes to offer a broad variety of tools though, even for those uncommon situations.

Most science tests are reading tests in a content area. The problem is, most students have a deficit of science vocabulary, which makes the tests much harder than they should be. Help eliminate this weakness by using science flash cards. Each one comes with a picture and a matching word. Have students give you a definition for the word, using the picture as a context clue.

Review your numbers with your students with these handy numerals flash cards. Then make a number booklet, which kids can illustrate, glue things to, or use stickers for counting. The more ways they see these numbers, the better! You can even do a ‘number walk’ and have kids walk down the hallway, looking for groups of 3, 4, 5, and so forth.

One of my favorite sets of language flash cards is a list of interjections. It’s funny, because many of them we don’t often think of, but we use them fairly often. It’s sort of a lost part of speech, but they can pack in so much meaning into a syllable or two. Here are some examples you can download and print, as well as other sets of language flash cards. Take a look at these interjections and have your students practice one each day!
